Terry Lee Skaggs  Oct. 19, 1951-June 17, 2004

SYRACUSE, Ind. Terry Lee Skaggs, 52, 103 W. Washington St., died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Millers Merry Manor, Fort Wayne.  He was born on Oct. 19, 1951, in Martinsville to Delbert and Beatrice (Staples) Skaggs.  He married Beth Ann Jarman on June 23, 1973. He moved to the area 32 years ago. He was a sportswriter for the Mail Journal and the Times Union. He was also a part-time car salesman for Petros. He was a member of North Webster Church of God, a former member of Kiwanis and a former junior varsity soccer coach. He had assisted with boy’s golf at Wawasee High School. He was also an amateur photographer. He is survived by his wife, Syracuse; a son, Ryan Nathaniel Skaggs, Syracuse; and his mother, Martinsville. He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Adam James Skaggs; and a brother, Richard.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at North Webster Church of God with the Rev. Norman Patton officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery. Kosciusko County, Indiana, Memorials may be directed to the Terry Lee Skaggs Memorial Scholarship Fund for Wawasee Athletics.
