Clyde E (Chip) Weddel III

A 22 year old former Martinsville resident was fatally injured Tuesday in a truck accident at Minturn, Colo. He was Clyde E. “Chip” Weddel III of Avon, Colo, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. Weddel Jr. of 940 E Harrison St. The youth was killed a 1pm.

A native of Marion County, he was born Dec. 1, 1950. His mother is the former LaVern Patton. On July 15, 1973 he was married to Rachael Lujan, who survives him.

The youth, who had lived in this community most of his life, was a trucker for a lumber company in Colorado. He was member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion Post 230.

Besides his wife and parents, he leaves a stepson, Mathew Lujan of Avon, Colo.; two brothers, David “Rocky” and Preston “Ty” Weddel, both of Martinsville. Five sisters, Jana, Cindy, Lori and Toni Weddel of Martinsville, Mrs Thomas Havens of Thorntown. A grandmother Mrs Fannie Alexander of Mooresville who survives.
