Geter Jr Jenkins

Geter P. Jenkins, Jr., age 52 of Maryville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Park West Hospital. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He was retired from ALCOA and was a member of the ALCOA 25 year club. He was preceded in death by his son, Geter P. Jenkins III; mother-in-law, June Vittetoe and father-in-law, J.C. Owenby.


Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Glenda K. Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Nolan Shepherd; grandson, Samuel Geter Shepherd; parents, Geter and Lucy Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and J.E. Noe; sister, Patricia Jenkins all of Maryville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Remona Latham of Louisville; brother-in-law, Rodney Owenby of Albuquerque, NM; nieces and nephews, Cissy and husband Josh Helton of Maryville, Jacob Latham of Louisville, Chris and wife Amanda Noe of Walland, Jonathan and wife Kelly Noe of Maryville; several great-nieces, great-nephews, family and special friends.


Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday December 20, 2006 in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Dr. Glenn Cummings and Rev. Glenn Grubb officiating. The entombment service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.


The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Chuck Malonee

Jr....What a great guy. The only guy I know that was shaving in elementary school. I worked with him for years at Alcoa and he was the same easy going smiling person every time you saw him. He wouldn't cheat you out of a penny or lie to you. In my eyes Jr. was one of the greats that come out of our class. His I.Q. was probably the highest in the class but he was just a good ole down home guy. He would do anything for you and not expect anything in return.
