Mike was one of the best people I have ever known. I had the honor of rooming with him my first year of college and it was during that time that I learned that he had quite a sense of humor (and a pretty good temper too). One great memory I have of him is that he used to always tell me that I was lucky that he couldn't skate, because if he could, he would've been the best goalie around. I bet he would've been! We used to pick at each other alot...I learned quickly how to disable his electric wheelchair and I used that to my advantage on many occasions. He got me back really good though...one thursday night I returned to the dorm after a night of indulging up in Hull Quebec and without a thought I proceeded to flop down on my bed....the only problem was, my bed was gone. Mike had enlisted the help of one of our neighbors to remove my bed and set it up in the bathroom down the hall....man that floor hurt! I miss Mike alot, I hope one day I will get to see him in Glory. God Bless!

Mike was the one of the nicest persons anyone could meet. He always had a smile on his face. He could brighten up the most horrible of days. Whenever I was having a bad day I could always count on him the cheer me up. We had alot of fun on some of the hockey tournament trips that our brothers were in. I miss him greatly and I am glad I had the chance to see him in the hospital before he passed on. Although he face many difficulties in life he always knew how to get through them. I can't wait to see him again someday.

Mike was a very strong individual. I had the pleasure of playing T- Ball with Mike before he was in the chair. Although he did not move well he always gave 100%. Mike and I used to share a laugh about T-Ball in the Sr. Lounge. He was a great person and is dearly missed.

Mike was a great friend. He is still an inspiration to me and I think about him often. He used to pick me up after classes and let me ride on the back of his wheelchair and drop me off at my next class. He always carried my books but refused to carry my purse!! :) I remember going to stand next to him in the back of St. Joseph's during mass and standing with him at hockey games. Mike loved sports. My sister married Jake Morris and they have three kids. Mike would have loved them. I wish he would have been able to know them. I will make sure they know what a great man their Uncle Michael was!!

Reading the other posts about Mike just confirms what Mike's relatively short time on Earth was one that touched many. I knew that he had a great sense of humor. It made you relax around him, and that brought the best humor out of you. He was quick to laugh with you. We shared alot of laughter. I knew what a great listener he was. I would say that you could find his picture in the dictionary by the word friend, but the dictionary does not have a complete enough definition for what Mike was. For what Mike lacked in physical ability, he more than made up for in his ability to positively affect the ones around him, even after his passing. One of my biggest regrets in my life is that I did not make a big enough effort to spend more time with him. Even though the visits meant alot to him, I'm not sure who got more out of it. We will probably feel Mike's presence at the reunion and be warmed by it.

I worked with a student that had the same strain of MD that Mike had.He was more than willing to become a friend of his and talk to him about how to make sure that he was ABLE not disabled. IT was amazing to watch the interactions and how well Mike was able to motivate the student. Heaven is a better place now.
