Ronald Bernhard, 73, of the Town of Lomira, passed away on Saturday evening, January 19, 2019, with his family by his side.

Ron was born on May 19, 1945, in Beaver Dam, to Carl and Gladys (Werner) Bernhard.  He was a graduate of Lomira High School.  On June 14, 1969, Ron was united in marriage to Karen Zedler at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Lomira.

Ron was a self-employed carpenter/contractor.  He took great pride in his workmanship and in all the projects he did. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time meticulously taking care of his lawn and helping out at his son's candy store, and visiting with customers.  He had a strong faith in God and was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Theresa, where he served many terms on the Church Council.  His hobbies included snowmobiling, dirt-track stock car racing, and playing Sheepshead with friends and family.  He was a founding member of the Theresa Pioneer Snowmobile Club, past-president and board member of the Dodge County Snowmobile Association, the Union Cemetery Board, and loved volunteering for the Theresa Lion's Tractor Pull.  He loved taking rides, Sunday visits with family, and helping wherever he could in his community.

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen; two sons, Mike (Tammy) of Lomira, Joel, Town of Lomira; two grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina Bernhard; two brothers, Robert (Carol) Bernhard of Theresa, Chuck (Marlene) Bernhard of Theresa; two sisters, Karen Schwenk of Milwaukee, Sarah Bernhard of West Bend; foster brother, Victor Lucas of Lomira; sisters and brothers-in-law, 19 nieces and nephews, other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela, his parents, Carl and Gladys Bernhard, and his brother-in-law, Ron Schwenk.

The visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 23rd from 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Theresa.  The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at church with the Rev. Jon Learman officiating. Burial will take on Thursday, January 24th at 10 a.m. at the Union Cemetery in Theresa.
