Maria is someone I'll never forget. I went to grade school with her at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Moorestown, N.J. She left there to attend Harrington Middle School in Mount Laurel, N.J., while I stayed at Good Counsel. We later reunited at Lenape in 1986 to began our years in High School. I had the pleasure of working with her part time during our Junior year as telemarketers for a mortgage company in Cherry Hill, N.J.

She was a great person and friend. I miss her very much and will never forget her.

I am someone too - who will never ever forget Maria!  I think about her quite often and always wonder how her sister Christy is doing.  I remember talking to Maria a week or two before the accident took place about a "date" that never actually happened.  She always had a beautiful personality and could warm a winter frost with that smile and distinct sexy laugh.  She and Michelle Mathis will never be forgotten!  It is so tragic that we lost these amazing souls.  It was middle school and I was going through my awkward teenage years.  Somehow, I got the courage to ask her out on a date.  It was the first time I had ever done that.  She gave me a kiss on the cheek and said "Yes"!  I was the happiest awkward teenager in the world that day.  Although we never went out on the date, she gave me confidence and a lasting memory. Todd Evans worked on the Fire department at the time, and I remember being over on Rt. 130 while they searched the creek where everything went down.  Maria and Michelle are in a much better place still driving the men wild with heavenly cheek kisses.

I think of Maria and Michele every April 8th.   They were both very special girls full of life and love.  I first met Maria  in seventh grade at Harrington and remember thinking how pretty she was.  She was friendly to everyone.   Michele was my neighbor and we were very close.  I went to Michele's house that fateful Saturday night and just missed them on their outing.   I did not know what happened until I got to school Monday morning and Amy O'Donnell asked me if I heard about Maria and Michele.   My sister came and picked me up from school so I could go home and turn on the news and see if it was really true...   Maria and Michele were so much fun to be around.   They are such a reminder to me of how precious life really is!
