Paul Hagan Genoa

SUTTONS BAY– Paul Hagen Genoa, 64, of Suttons Bay, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at Munson Hospice House surrounded by his loved ones.
 
Paul was born on November 5, 1951 in Pennsylvania the son of William and Gloria (Whitaker) Genoa. He is survived by his wife, Denise Genoa; his son, Matthew Genoa; his grandson, Evan Genoa; his sister, Leslie Temples; and his mother, Gloria Genoa.

Paul had a deep passion for clean energy.  He received a degree in Environment Health at Colorado State University and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Business.  He began his career in the nuclear energy industry locally, at Big Rock in Charlevoix.  He eventually went on to work for the Nuclear Energy Institute in Washington DC for over 22 years, educating the world about the benefits of nuclear.  He had a lasting impact on the industry and made many wonderful friends along the way.

Paul's other passions included sailing, biking, skiing, woodworking, hiking and spending time with family and friends.  He loved the outdoors and all the splendor that Northern Michigan has to offer.  While he is no longer here in person, his spirit lives on in all of us as he makes his final sail into the sunset.

A memorial service is planned for the future.
