Stuart was my neighbor and I loved him like a brother, but he never knew that. I could not get through the protective sheild that kept him in the privacy of a very difficult childhood. As I related to a couple of classmates, my parents ran over to their bunring house one night and got the family out right before the firemen arrived. We never talked about the cigarette that set the drapes on fire. We were playing kickball with other neigbor kids one day and Stuart and I had an argument (elementary age). I slapped him on the cheek and he slapped me right back. I was slapped since in an unprovoked incident...but I still feel the slap of my quiet friend.

He married again after his divorce from Mandy Griswold and lived in Breckenridge, Durango and Whitewater. The obituary does not mention that he had a family; but I hope that he did have a loving family that made him feel safe. (jamckinney, 10/17/19)
