I received some information from Eileen's niece. I was pleased to hear from her as she was able to send me the lovely obituary they had written for Eileen. I had sent her an email and she hadn't responded, so while I was saddened to lose my friend, I was relieved for her as she had been battling MS for many years and was in a lot of pain. She had a very strong faith, and I truly believe she is at peace with her beloved Jesus.
I never knew Eileen in High School. she is someone I got to know via Facebook as a result of working on the reunion committee. When I had breast cancer in 2009, she was a constant supporter and person who would send me inspiring thoughts and prayers, that I very much appreciated. For the last 7 years, we had corresponded regularly, but I knew she was struggling. I think sometimes God puts people in your life to help you with your struggles, I definitely believe Eileen was put there for us to help each other. I miss my friend but know she is no longer in pain.
