In Memory

Frederick P. Davis

We have recently learned from Fred's Mother that he passed away from a heart attack. He has been cremated and there will be no services. He was living in Exton at the time of his death.

I will miss good old Fred. We were great buds at Edgemont, along with Bob Duncan.

I remember Fred coming up to me in 6th grade with a tear when we found out that

we would be going to different schools for junior high- we both cried. Rest in peace

you dancing fool. Jeff Campbell

Freddie lived down the street from us, on Carriage Drive.  When we were in 7th grade at Media Junior High, Freddie was my first "official boyfriend."  When I told that to Freddie, he looked surprised and stated, "you're my eleventh."  About 2 weeks later, Freddie broke up with me, explaining that I was too smart to be his girlfriend, but he'd like for us to be "real" friends instead.  And so we were, throughout Jr. High and High School.  I always admired Freddie's ability to make people smile and laugh.

Fred was someone so full of life and laughter when I knew him. We met at Edgmont Elementry in 4th grade I think. He fit right in with the rest of us - Jeff Campbell, Steve Harkins, Danny Kelly, Neil Powers - he was one of us from the get go. He could make me laugh just looking at me - lol.

I saw him off and on through the years - once at Campbell's Boat House when Mike Favinger was playing around 2011 or so, and it was so good to see him and spend time with him. I know Mike and Fred were very good friends. He still made me laugh - I made him laugh too with something I said, and he said " Ahh Bob - you're a breath of fresh air " - and I liked the way that sounded. I've never forgotten him saying that to me.

The last time I saw him was at the Wawa on West Chester Pike near 352, and we stood there talking for nearly an hour. He was still telling me to bring my sons over to the Helicoptor Museum next time they have an event and he'd give them rides. I said I would - though I kind of doubted I would ( it's a parent thing ) but he was so nice to offer that to them. He told me he still had that old Triumph sports car he bought new - I was amazed. And that was it. The next I heard was that Fred had passed away.

I wish I would have made an effort to see him - call him up and go out for a beer or coffee - but I'm lazy like that. I regret that I didn't. I have good memories of Fred though. I'll bet he's in Heaven cracking jokes with the Angels. Miss you Freddy
