Karen L. Knight, 60, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 3, 2015, at her home. Born March 16, 1955, in McConnellsburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles Naugle and Alma Osler. Karen was a graduate of the James Buchanan High School and has been employed for nearly 20 years with Franklin County Head Start where she was currently employed as an Administrative Assistant. She had previously been employed at Occupational Services and Franklin County ARC. She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #842 and the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Chambersburg. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Kendra Knight of Rehoboth Beach, DE; two sons, Kevin Knight of Mercersburg and Travis Bean of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Skyler Vincenti, Raina Ebersole, O'Rion Knight, and Colton Bean; one great-granddaughter, Abby Rose; two nieces, Kimberly Thomas of Manassas, VA and Laura Thomas of Frederick, MD; a nephew, TJ Heefner of Ft. Loudon; and her brother-in-law, Tom Heefner, Sr. of Mercersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbra Thomas and Nancy Heefner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, January 8, 2016, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
