UPDATE  1-24-10

Back by popular demand...."WEEKEND AT THE LAKE"

We had sooo much fun at the reunion last summer, it was suggested we not wait another 5 - 10 years to get together again.  So we came up with WEEKEND AT THE LAKE.  This is NOT a reunion. Therefore, no reunion fees and no organization/lists/etc.   Trey went down and reserved the same camping spot he had for the reunion.   (Site 180, past the cabins)  It's the same spot where we hung out before and after the dinner.  It's on the lake, plenty of room to hangout and visit.  We're set for April 23rd - 25th.    BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING.   We won't be having a reunion dinner, so bring your own food/drinks/...everything.    If you want to camp out (so far we have 3 campers and a few who have shown interest) you better hurry and reserve now.   www.loydpark.com   We will be at Joe Pool Lake, Loyd Park, Loop F (same as the cabins) where sites 153 - 190 are.  Trey said something about that weekend there will be live country music down by the beach.    Gonna be fun...so c'mon!!

Another thing we have going on is this years "RELAY FOR LIFE".  Our team Captain, Pam Norrell Phipps (also a survivor)  signed team "Class of 1984" up again this year and we're ready to go!!!  We had so much fun last year and it was for an incredible cause.  It was from the heart that we all represented our classmates who have lost the battle, won the battle, and fighting the battle.  It was a VERY emotional time as we did the introduction walk around the field with our banner.  People we did not even know were shedding tears and thanking us for remembering our classmates....very emotional.  This year we want to be BIGGER and BETTER!!!  Lets round up our troops and get this thing going!!  I'll let you know when we have the Relay website up and running.   Below is a note from Pam, and after that are pictures from last years Relay.    Thank you for your support!!!

Hello Friends!!

Hope 2010 is getting off to great start for you.  It's that time of year again when we start preparing for Relay For Life 2010.

If you are interested in joining the "Class of '84" Relay team, please contact me by e-mail or by phone, 972-742-6388.  If you live too far away to participate but would still like to fundraise for our team, all donations are tax deductible and would be greatly appreciated.  Any donation would help our team to become the "top raising team" at Relay.  Last year we raised $1800.00 and earned a Bronze team award. AMAZING!!  This year we want to raise the bar and double that amount!!

The theme for this year's Relay is "To celebrate more birthdays".  Every dollar we raise gets us one step closer to a cure for cancer.  Many new and successful treatments are being discovered, better medicines are being used, more education is available, new laws are being passed and lives are being saved because of the money that is raised thru Relay For Life.

LET'S PUT AN END TO CANCER!!!  AND CELEBRATE MORE BIRTHDAYS!!!

 Good Health and Best Wishes!!

  Pam Phipps
