I am someone who never personally knew Troy or his family. This morning I came across the story of Troy’s life in the May 2023 issue of the Employees of California newsletter “Alive!” (Vol. 22, No. 5). It seemed to be the story of his life growing up in a sweet, nerdy, loving family in Utah that was marred by the relentless bullying of him by neighborhood boys. It seemed as if his story should be remembered by his classmates in the interests of realizing the potential harm that bullying may do to a person. Perhaps their children would be more likely to recognize that there are good people in the world who may be different from them, but still deserve respect. So saying, if any of the members of Troy’s family prefer that this information not be made available, I would hope that you would respect their wishes and remove this information.
