Allen T. Schenk Obituary

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
Allen Todd Schenk passed away on September 12, 2011 in Murray, Utah due to complications of heart transplant. Allen was born to Calvin Claire Schenk and Kathryn Allen Schenk in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 9, 1963. Allen grew up in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1981. He attended Dixie College in St. George Utah in 1984 where he met his wife of 25 years, Beverly Redd Schenk, married July 18, 1986. Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He befriended everyone who crossed his path. He lived with his family in Beaver Dam, Arizona for 13 years where he was able to follow his passion for golf. He loved working and playing on the golf course where he promoted from Greens Mower to Superintendent of Golf Course Maintenance in Mesquite, Nevada. After being diagnosed with an enlarged heart at age 30, his health would eventually prevent him from continuing his work on the golf course. He moved his family to Murray, Utah in 2001 where he was put on the organ donor waiting list. In 2003 he received his miraculous gift of life from heart donor Heather Lynn Sackett. After his heart transplant he had the great fortune of seeing both of his kids graduate from high school, his daughter get married and bring his two beautiful grandsons into the world. Allen is survived by his wife, Beverly Schenk, son, Calvin Connor Schenk, Daughter, Brittney Taylor (Gary), grandsons Brayton Allen Taylor and Tristin William Taylor, parents Kathryn Schenk and Calvin Schenk, sister, Alisa Galvan.
