Dwight McGrew

Dwight R. McGrew, 59, of Coal Valley, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Private family services will be Saturday, Jan. 5, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

Dwight was born May 1, 1953, in Moline, the son of Willard and Jeanette Cameron McGrew. He married Mary H. Darnell on Oct. 29, 1977, in Rock Island.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and classic cars. Dwight was a talented football and baseball player during his school years and softball player after high school.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tanisha McGrew, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Kylie, Tyler and McKenzie; and brother, Michael McGrew, Concord, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents.
