Thomas Cordes

Thomas J. Cordes, 40, of 909 5th St. A, Hampton, died Sunday, July 10, 1994, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Services are 10 a.m Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a wake service at 6:30. Memorials may be made to a trust fund for his children's education to be established at Norwest Bank, Davenport.

Mr. Cordes was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Rock Island, the son of Harold and Lilliam Kruse Cordes. He married Debra Ber henke Aug. 25, 1972, in Moline.

He was employed at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, as an assembler for 22 years.

He was a member of Local 865 UAW.

He enjoyed weightlifting and fishing.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Chastity Marie Cordes, at home; a son, Shay Michael Cordes, attending the University of Illinois; his mother, Moline; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Ralph Riggs, East Moline; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Cindy Cordes, Moline, and Jeffrey and Sherrie Cordes, Colona.
