Gregory Hartson

MOLINE - Gregory S. Hartson, 59, of Moline, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St. A, Moline, with visitation noon to services. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or QC Paws.

Greg was born June 28, 1953, in Springfield, a son of Jack and Gloria (Ferguson) Hartson.

Greg retired on June 10, 2006, from John Deere Company Construction and Forestry after 30 years. He enjoyed antique shopping, refinishing furniture and classic cars. Greg was an avid sports fan, especially boxing, and had a love for animals.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Hartson, Chicago; sister, Stacey Hester (Julie Doetsch), Springfield; brothers, Brad (Karen) Hartson, Rock Island, Kyle (Peg) Hartson, Plainview, Ill., and Jack (Lori Brockschmidt) Hartson, Springfield; and best roommate ever, Carin Pompkins, Moline.
