Janet Moran

Janet R. Moran, 49, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Coal Valley, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services and entombment will be held in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Friends may meet with the family from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Ms. Moran, 2300 N. 3rd St., Springfield. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 918 E. Enos Ave., Springfield, IL 62702. Sager Funeral Home, Beardstown, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Sept. 26, 1953, in Moline, daughter of Jim and Nona Johnson Moran.

Ms. Moran graduated from Moline High School in the class of 1971. She was a multi-talented craftswoman and volunteered her time and her talents for an American Heart Association Stroke Victim Support Group and also for Habitat for Humanity, for which she received her own Habitat for Humanity house this fall.

Surviving are her father, Jim Moran, Coal Valley; son, Jason K. Phillips, Carrollton, Texas; daughter and spouse, Heather D. and Kirk Cowen, Pekin, Ill.; brothers, Elbert Baker, Glenwood, Ill., and Jim Moran, Rock Island; and sisters, Joyce Flynn, Matherville, Kay Harris, Mesquite, Texas, Mary Albrecht, Novi, Texas, and Deborah Ketner, Moline. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nona Moran.
