Reunion Msg: ROB GRAY

20th Year Class Reunion

Fellow Classmates:

Attached are some recent photos of my family and me in Baghdad a few weeks ago after an operation.

Here's my update as well since I obviously can't make the reunion:

Graduated from University of Alabama in 1997.  Met my beautiful and amazing wife at Alabama and married her after graduating.  She is a tremendous woman who has supported me and raised our boys through many difficult years of deployments and service.  We have 4 awesome sons ages 12, 9, 4, and 1.  They all play soccer like their Dad.  I'm very blessed.   Commissioned into the Army (Infantry) in 1997.  Currently serving as a Special Forces company commander in 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne).  Have done 2 x combat tours to Afghanistan (2004, 2005-06).  Have conducted 1 x advisory tour to Afghanistan (2008). Served 1 x combat tour to Iraq (2006) and currently conducting second combat tour in Iraq (2011).

Am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Theology.  My faith is now a central part of who I am.

Still love soccer and the outdoors.  Have been back to Monroe a couple of times to see family.  It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since we graduated.  I wish everybody the best and ask that you remember those of us still deployed in your prayers.

I attached some picts of my family and a couple of my deployments, including a recent one from this current deployment.  Have done a lot of traveling with my family.  My youngest brother Andrew (Neville Student Body President/Alum '98) and I served in the same Firebase in Afghanistan in 2005 (Orgun-E).  Pretty amazing.

Post some pics online after the events.
