I spoke with Ray's son Chris yesterday. He said that Ray died at the young age of 47 in February of 1987 with cancer. His wife's name is Gerry. They had two children a boy and a girl. There are no grandchildren.
Ray was a security guard at Jones & Laughlin Steel Mill. My husband said he remembers talking with Ray from time to time, he also worked at J&L. Ray was always friendly. Small world.
I asked Chris if he had anything he would like to share with us about his Father, he said he was meeting with his Grandmother and they would give it some thought. I gave him the website and my e-mail address.
