After High School, Bill attended Robert Morris Junior College and then graduated from the University of Tampa. He served in the Army and was a Ranger serving a year in Vietnam. While there he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, one with a V for Valor.
He married Mary Bergstrom and settled in Fredericksburg, VA where he worked for GTE Sylvania. He later moved to Columbus, OH with Siemens(who bought out GTE Sylvania).
Bill pased away in November, 2003. He has 2 children, Emily, born in Madagascar. Emily currently is living and working in Washington,DC. Travis was born in 1979, graduated from West Point, is married and living in Hawaii. He is curently serving with the Army in Afghanistan(his 2nd tour there, and 1 in Iraq).
Mary has remarried and is living in Gahana, OH. Bill's brother Hank lives in Clemmons, NC and sister Margot is in Redondo Beach, CA
