Comments:

I worked for years in the oilfield as a dispatcher until 1985 when I went back to college and became a nurse. After graduation I practiced nursing in Lafayette for over fifteen years. I then moved to Thibodaux to complete my MBA. I have remained in Morgan City following the death of my father, my mother requires care. When my job here is finished my husband and I are looking forward to retiring in the mountains of North Eastern Alabama, where he is from.

School Story:

I remember my first solo ensemble festival and being sooo nervous. I remembered playing and walking out of the room and people clapping for me. Then I was putting my baratone in the case when I realized I had forgot the music in the room. I knocked on the door and went back in the audition room asked if I could get my music. I walked over to the stand and nothing was there, I looked at Mrs. Robicheaux, and she looked puzzled, then told me, "Sharon, you did not bring any music, I thought you meant to do that!" I must have looked like I was panicing because the judge handed me my score page with nothing but "1 plus" written across it. My first Superior solo, and I had forgot the music at home.

What's the toughest thing you've had to deal with after high school? How'd you deal with it?

The death of my son. I deal with it on a day to day basis even now fifteen years later. I depend on God and know the Lord gave his son and watched while He was tortured and killed so I know the Lord knows my pain and He puts His Angels in my Life to help me when I need it. He blessed us with the birth of our daughter! The Lord also has blessed us by allowing Casey's friends to love and support us and to tell Shannon about her brother! How awesome is that!
