Every year the MHS faculty is instructed to select girls and boys out of the graduating senior class with qualities that should include: working to the best of their ability, good attitude, good attendance, good school spirity and displays a good role model for school and community. The teachers submit 10 gentlemen and 10 ladies names and the votes are tallied. There were 11 boys selected in 2001 because of a tie for tenth place.
