A farmer owner-operator of the Grain Drying and Equipment co, he was an area Behlen equipment distributor, Pioneer Seeds distributor, Pionneer Seeds salesmand and employee of JR Wortman and Co in Morristown. He was a former member of the New Salem Lions Club and Fair Board of Rush County, where he lived for several years. He was a member of the Little Blue River Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
