GIBSON CITY - Funeral services for Michael B. Thoma, 24, of Gibson City will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, 206 E. Tenth St., Gibson City, with the Rev. Patrick W. Cox and the Rev. Delmar Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Foos land. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lamb Funeral Home, 303 N. Church St., Gibson City, and one hour before services Friday at the church.
Mr. Thoma died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday (July 11, 1995) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born Dec. 26, 1970, at Springfield, a son of Edwin C. and Sharon M. Miller Thoma. He married Traci Schaefers on July 20, 1991, at Danville. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Kaleigh Thoma, at home; one son, Cody Thoma, at home; his parents of Morton; one brother, Christopher Thoma of Waterford, Mich.; one sister, Shelley Thoma of Morton; maternal grandmother Peggy Lowenstein of Champaign; maternal grandfather Edward Miller of Crest Hill; and paternal grandmother Dorothy Thoma of Danville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather.
Mr. Thoma was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Morton. He was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danville. He moved to Gibson City in 1991 from Morton.
He worked for the city of Gibson City for two years in the street and alley department. He was a 1989 graduate of Morton High School
