Grace Grybko

 

GRYBKO, Grace Janet Of Onset formerly of Boston and Sunderland, MA, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Brigham & Women's Hospital. Grace was the daughter of the late John and Lena (Gritz) Grybko. A sister, aunt, cousin and good friend to many.

 

Grace's career encompassed management positions in retailing at Saks Fifth Avenue, New York City, as well as at Amtrak, Women's City Club of Boston, and at a Boston condominium property. Grace pursued her love of the culinary arts in her role as chef at a private dinner club in Wheathampstead, England and as co-owner/chef of The Polonaise Restaurant in Boston. 

 

Pride in her Polish heritage led her to serve as treasurer of The Polish Cultural Institute of New England as well as secretary of The Polish American Congress of New England. Her many interests include oil painting, creating tapestry hand bags, entertaining and traveling. 

 

She is survived by: Robert M. Hartt, her loving and caring partner of Greensboro, VT; her brother John Grybko and wife Ann of Marlborough, CT; sister Reenie Clancy of South Deerfield, MA, her aunts Monica Pratt and Helen Grybko (102) of Florida; niece Tamara Grybko and husband Jim Barrera of Albuquerque, NM; nephews Scott Clancy and wife Rachel of Ayer, MA, Henry Henderson and wife Claudia and daughters Ava and Lida of Newton, MA, and Michael Grybko of Denver, CO. 

 

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday August 27, at 11:30 am in the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30. Grace has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
