Stephen J Kaplan

77, of Charlottesville, VA formerly of Florida and Boston, died July 20, 2017. Husband of the late Merrie (Longley) Kaplan. Loving son of Henry and Sylvia (Bloom) Kaplan and loving grandson of Jacob and Ester Bloom.
Born in Everett Stephen was raised in Chelsea, he attended Mt. Harmon School for Boys and continued his education at the University of Alabama and Harvard Business School. He was employed as a regional manager with Date Corp, and most recently a yacht broker in Florida. A loving husband and true friend who will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his brother in law Mark Longley and his wife Peggy of NH and extended Longley family and friends.
His funeral service will be held graveside in Beth Israel Cemetery on Thursday July 27th. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to Temple Emmanuel 60 Tudor St. Chelsea, MA 02150
