Angie Jordan,
I am not an IT guy either, but I tried to use the link that you gave and I was not able to get access. I am sure that it is something that I am doing wrong. I copied and pasted forever, but my computer kept telling me it couldn't take me to that site. Let me know if there is another way. Thanks, Pat

The "Welcome to the Jungle" addition is very cool, artist being Scott Egan. I really enjoyed working on the annual staff, although I must say that the cheerleaders got shafted in that yearbook with those tiny pictures! Yeah, I've had the book out, reminiscing!

Pat Bass,

The only thing I know how to do is get video from youtube on here, but i did a little research. You would have to buy some equipment to convert VHS to DVD if you wanted to do it yourself. There is a place call The Video Kitchen that will do it for you, they have two locations, 2323 Bardstown RD. and 1917 Blankenbaker Parkway. They also have a web site (http://videokitchen.com) that tell you about their services. Good Luck. Wish I could be more help

A Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers...
A new twist on an old concept...
This is important.

A Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers...

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar & proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.' The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

Steve,
I was able to make my VHS tape into a DVD, but I am not able to get my computer to recognize my DVD. I guess that the quality is so poor that it will not play it. I am still trying.

Candy,
That was perfect, a great way to live your life.

Candy, that is so true. Thanks for the reminder to keep priorities in line! You've reminded me that I definitely need to be visiting my granny more often! It is the fact that she's ALWAYS been in my corner, no matter what.

I was just sitting here thinking, and the sad fact is, I don't remember much of anything from high school. I remember my friends, but the only things I really remember are the things that got us in trouble. Most of my friends were underclassmen. Sad.

I saw Todd Deerr yesterday at Chuck E Cheese. I gave him the website so he could get signed up. Terry Cox has been talking to him and trying to get him to come the reunion. I told him the date and talked to his wife about it too. Hopefully he will be there.

OKAY HERE IS SOMETHING ELSE FOR US ALL TO REMEMBER.....

A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn’t look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock . Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!

Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left.

Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

It’s like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. It isn’t always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it.

We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay.

I am so blessed by the gems of friendship I have with you. Thank you for looking beyond my clay vessel.

APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE THING YOU HAVE, ESPECIALLY YOUR FRIENDS!
LIFE IS TOO SHORT AND FRIENDS ARE TOO FEW! ~ Author Unknown~

Pass this on to another Clay Ball!!!

Seriously, what is the dress attire for our upcoming class reunion? Is it casual or formal? Or Semi-formal? Inquiring minds want to know.
By the way, I'm sorry that I did make the last engagement at Kettle Creek. It was an opportunity to see and talk with those who will not be attending the Reunion in September '09 especially Angela. Angela, I want to personally thank you for all the hard work that you put into orchestrating this reunion. Twenty years has flown by and during that course of time, my mind literally went blank in remembering a majority of you. Faces of those that I saw everyday during high school and can not recall them to this day. But at the beginning of this year, with the help of Angela, I was able to come to this great website and see past and present pictures of all of you. With this, my mind has now opened up of all the memories that I had with each of you. Oooh, I'm so looking forward to seeing all of you! I could shoot myself in the foot for not checking the website on a frequent basis because then I would not have miss a great time with you all. From the pictures taken everyone looked wonderful.
Again, I express my gratitude to Angela and to those that helped on the committee and wish her many blessings in her upcoming delivery of her twins.
Look forward to seeing everyone!!

Julian, I believe no one has ever really said what the attire for the reunion was going to be. When I talked with some of the other committe people we just decided that nothing real fancy and for everyone to come as they feel comfortable. I mean it is not about what you wear, but just the fact of all of us getting together to catch up. So, wear what you feel most comfortable in and come enjoy yourself. I hope this helps.

I have to say I think I have at least one wonderful memory with each and every single classmate I have found on here, and facebook. I have been trying to message each person individually to thank them for those memories.

As far as favorite teachers go, I have many I remember fondly. I remember cracking up with Mr. Bass when he hit the brakes as I started to pull out once. I also remember how he paired me and the two other shortest people in class for drive day, me, Justin McCormic, and Tasha Wethington.

I also remember Mr. Shelburne very very fondly. Many of you did not know but my freshman year I discovered some very troubling information that turned my entire world upside down. I found out that I had a half sister who had been given up for adoption to my grandparents. I did not deal well with it, and Mr. Shelburne noticed the changes in me and called me out of class to talk. He spent the rest of the day letting me vent (and miss classes). He has no idea how much of a help he was to me in dealing with all that drama. His son is playing at the state fair this year JD Shelburne, he plays country music (this kid was born our freshman year!)

I also really liked Mr. Tyler, Ms. McKinney, Mr. Bentley, and Mr. Blackburn.

I spent most of my time with upper classmen, but I have so many great memories of each and every single one of you. I have ran into many of you over the years and its so great the way you can go right back as though you never lost touch.

I am still taking pics if anyone wants to send me any. I can't wait to see everyone!!!!!

I think it would be great if all of us who live in the Louisville/Bullitt county areas could try to get together every couple months maybe. Anyone else interested?

Doug Blanton and I were talking the other day and were thinking about getting together Saturday morning of the reunion and play a round of golf. I am sure Pat Bass will be in. If anyone else is interested let me know. After I get a number I'll try to get some tee times.

Hey everybody. I am excited about this weekend and so looking forward to catching up. Anxious that I went and got a shorter haircut that feels weird (!) but I guess that's only appropriate, since I did actually have an asymetrical haircut in high school! I hope if anyone else out there is worried about how they look, they can find some peace and let's just have some fun!

I will not be able to make the reunion. I look forward to hearing stories and seeing photos from the event.

Angela - Congratulations on the twins. I saw the pictures on face book and they are beautiful! Also, thank you for your effort on the reunion. It has been great to get updates on this site.

Do you remember Renee Peavler? I remember her in school, but see she's not on the list as gradutating with us. Maybe she moved at some point. My memory fails me. She has passed away. Her father goes to church with me. I didn't even realize he was her father until I saw her obituary and her picture.
