POOLER, Ga. — Kevin M. Blaesing, 42, of Pooler, Georgia, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his home in Pooler.

The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate the services.

Following the funeral service a time of food and fellowship will be held at The Elms in Muscatine.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kevin Blaesing memorial fund.

Kevin Michael Blaesing was born on Jan. 23, 1971, in Muscatine, the son of Michael Blaesing and Teri Chadek. He was a 1989 graduate of Muscatine High School.

Kevin proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp, and showed true bravery in his fight for equality in the military, working closely with the S.L.D.N./Outserve.

Kevin enjoyed his home in Pooler where he spent his free time boating and kayaking in the ocean. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. Kevin was a regional manager for TMX Finance, a national finance company.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his parents; Mike Blaesing and Teri Detrick of Muscatine; one sister, Lisa (Blaesing) LaRue and husband, Brian, of De Forest, Wis.; two brothers, Barry Blaesing of Muscatine, Greg Blaesing and wife, Salli, of Muscatine; eight nieces and nephews, Katie LaRue, Rachel LaRue, Jack LaRue, Kelsie Blaesing, Britt Blaesing, Morgan Blaesing, Megan Blaesing, Nolan Blaesing; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many special friends he has met throughout his journey.

He was preceded in death by his step-father Gene Detrick, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
