M. Jay Sissel
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- M. Jay Sissel, 30, of Muscatine died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials have been established for his son, Navarre Sissel.

Mr. Sissel was born Jan. 5, 1971, in Kirksville, Mo.

He graduated in May 2001 with a degree in Psychology from St. Ambrose University. He was accepted into the Masters of Social Work Program at St. Ambrose where he planned to continue his degree this fall.

He loved fishing, hunting and music and was a very devoted father.

Survivors include his son, Navarre Edward Sissel at home; his mother, Bonnie Sissel of Muscatine; his brother, Shane Sissel and his wife, Susan, of Marengo; his niece, Paris Renee Sissel of Marengo; his maternal grandmother, Joan Sissel of Stockton; an uncle, Dennis Edwards and his wife, Pat, of Muscatine; and his estranged wife, Monica Sissel of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Max and Marjorie Edwards and by his paternal grandfather, Warren Sissel.
