Rodney A. Tigges

Rodney A. Tigges, 40, of Minneapolis, Minnesota formerly of the area passed away August 30, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with a wake service being held at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will follow the services in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Stuart. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rodney Tigges Memorial Fund in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Rodney was born August 18, 1970 in Carroll, Iowa to Vernon Tigges and Shirley Lehrter Miller. He was one of four children born to this marriage. Rodney's early years were spent outside of Dexter, Iowa and he attended Stuart-Menlo Schools before moving to Muscatine and graduating from Muscatine High School, with the class of 1989. After high school, Rodney enrolled at Drake University and received his MBA in Business Marketing graduating with honors in 1993. Shortly after, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota for 5 years and then onto San Diego, California and worked for Ajilon for 15 years before being employed, as he put-it, in his dream job with Halterman and Associates Inc. in Minneapolis, as a Senior Executive Recruiter. He was a lifelong member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart. Through his work, he hosted parties for his clients every spring and fall. Along with these parties, Rodney, would have the guests bring gifts that were in turn given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, for all of the children and young adults to enjoy. In appreciation for his efforts, Make-A-Wish Foundation presented a plaque to him.

Rodney, enjoyed spending time at home with his two dogs, Ari and Coco and his beloved cat Boots. He also enjoyed going to the gym, boating, snow skiing in Colorado and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and step-father Michael "Mick" Miller. Rodney leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father, Vernon (Norma) Tigges of Dexter; mother, Shirley Miller of Hermiston, Oregon; brothers, Allen Tigges and his son Marcus of Germany, Brian Tigges of Dexter, Paul Tigges and his children, Shalee, Cody, Dustin, and MaKayla of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and step- brothers, Steven (Rainey) Cook and their children Olivia and Vanessa of Des Moines, Jason Cook of Des Moines; step-sister, Becky Baggley of Illinois and a host of friends all of whom will miss him greatly.

Rodney was one of a kind!I remember riding up and down the,"Ones",with him and Cindy Haage.God bless and rest your soul Rodney.
