OBITUARY

James D. Ard, 76, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, after a short illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

He was born June 7, 1946, in Parsons, Kansas, to James Ard and Viola (Trimble) Ard Campbell. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Floyd Campbell. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1964. Later he received his Associate's Degree from Clinton Community College in 2003.

He married Nelda Beeken on February 14, 1969, in Clinton, IA. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2017.

He worked at International Paper Company in Clinton, Iowa, for over 30 years until the plant closed. He then worked at the Mississippi Belle and Wild Rose Casinos for several years. Before retiring, he worked security for Ashford University.

Jim enjoyed riding his bicycle, reading, and spending time with his friends, family, and dog Bentley. He was incredibly proud of his granddaughter, who was born on his birthday.

He is survived by his daughter Tammela and son-in-law Darren May of Clinton, IA; granddaughter Lilly May of Clinton; one sister Judy Kidwell of Camdenton, Missouri; one niece LuEllen Lee of Morrison, IL, one sister-in-law Carole Pearson of DeBary, Florida, and a special friend.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nelda, parents, brother Gary Campbell and grandparents.
