Linda Watters (Hildahl)

Linda Lou Hildahl, 75, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 peacefully with her son, Brit by her side.  A Celebration of Life will begin 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Elks Lodge #112, 1001 Tri View Ave.  

Linda was born the daughter of Douglas R. and Charlotte (Heslop) Watters on November 9, 1946 in Muscatine, Iowa.  She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1964 and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in nursing.  Linda married Bart Hildahl on December 9, 1979.  They divorced years later.

Linda made her home in Sioux City where she was a home health nurse through St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement.

Linda was well known as a standout bowler, slow pitch softball player, and accomplished cook.  She frequented the leagues at Plaza Bowl and Harmony Lanes and enjoyed hanging out at One-Eyed Jack’s.  She was published in Taste of Home Magazine and featured on KTIV for her fantastic beer can chicken.  She enjoyed watching The Food Channel, Jeopardy, and The Price Is Right. 

Linda was a faithful supporter of the Sioux City Elks Lodge #112.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Val Christiansen, Deb Nelson, and Terry Askelson and also Visiting Angels for their wonderful care and support of Linda.

Linda is survived by her children, Brit Hildahl, Joe (Cece Biankini) Rueckert, and Anne (Ron) Peacock; brother, Douglas (Jane) Watters; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, and Riley Rueckert, Joshua Nolan, Madeline (Brent) Dearing, and Molli and Ella Peacock; and niece and nephew, Kristen and Darin Richardson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Toni Richardson.
