Eulis McElmurry

Eulis McElmurry, 59, devoted father and grandfather, went to his heavenly Father on September 18, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He was born April 3, 1959 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Harold and Gwen, the youngest of five siblings. Eulis married Carol Sam. They were married for 17 years.

Eulis became a CDL driver in 2001.  He enjoyed being in a truck and on the road, where he drove for fourteen years.  He resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was employed at Automated Mail Services.  He took pride in his work and during his time there made many friends. 

Eulis was a devoted father and proud grandpa.  He never passed on a chance to spend every free minute with his grandkids.  He loved his family and showed it with the smile he wore wherever he was. Eulis had a passion for old country music, especially Conway Twitty.  He enjoyed the times listening to him with his family.

Eulis was preceded in death by his father, Harold McElmurry; grandparents, John and Eva McElmurry; uncles, Danny, Leonard, and Eulis McElmurry; aunts, Geraldine and Margaret.  He is survived by his mother, Gwen Rhoden; children, Tarrah Young and Wesley McElmurry; grandchildren, Jolon and Chanel Murdock, Jase Alan and Eva Ray Young, Rylan and Mackinzi McElmurry; brothers, Harold, Gary and Stan; sister, Gail; nephews, John, Trey, Gary, Brian, Kyle, Bobby and Martin; nieces, Mandy, Cie Cie, Jenny, Kendyll, Rebecca, Sondra, Kim and Michelle; along with many cousins, aunts and uncles he adored.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Eulis McElmurry will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Braggs, Oklahoma, with Pastor Tommy Ponnel officiating.  Burial will follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs.  Bobby Sam, Martin Sam, Victor Duran, Ricky Duran, Raul Villegas and Elijah Johnson will serve as pallbearers and David Young as an honorary pallbearer.
