Since high school I have either been going to school or teaching school. I taught after graduating from NSU in 1982 in Joplin, Mo for five years before going to graduate school at Pittsburg State University. After graduation, I really wanted to comeback to Oklahoma so I took a job in Tahlequah at the local newspaper as the news editor. Best move I ever made. I got to know everyone in town and wrote some awesome stories before finally getting on at NSU in the mass communication department as a part-time instructor. I was hired fulltime in 1990 and completed a doctorate in 2001 from OSU - Go Pokes! I love teaching and I love NSU. I advised the student newspaper and the online magazine. In 1997, I took custody of my two nephews - Dale's children. In 2001, I adopted them. I found out I had had a lot of free time on my hands before children. Aaron is a cross country and track star and makes straight A's. Eric is autisic and attends the middle school where he has great teachers and therapists. Life is good and very busy. |
