Well, I started working at the ONE STOP on the corner of Houston and York while attending NSU. An armed robbery sent me looking for another job and I ended up a Zapata for 7.5 years. Their need to tranfer me to PA caused my resume to land on a desk at Fort Howard. I was hired and remained there for the next 19.5 years and worked my way into a management position. After leaving Georgia Pacific, I started my own construction company focusing mostly on remodel work. I LOVE IT. The business is doing well and it has been a true blessing I don't deserve.
I was able to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Education on the 5-year plan and swore never to darken the doorsteps of NSU again. It took me 10 years to eat those words and I was able to complete my Master's Degree in Industrial Management. This allowed me to make use of my first degree by teaching night classes several years for NSU.
My wife and I now have an empty nest except when our granddaughter is here. If you don't have a grandkid--get one, they are pretty cool. The girls still come and go: it's always a revolving door.
School Story:
Class wasn't much fun, but lunch was fabulous. Remember the race to J & S Pizza to pile up the plate with that cheese bread and pizza. It's a different world now and I sometimes think about all of the things we were allowed to do that are gone forever.
