Alfred T. "Butch" Calhoun, Jr.
(December 14, 1944 - September 17, 2017)

Alfred T. “Butch” Calhoun, Jr., 72 years of age and a resident of Robeline, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Natchitoches, LA. He was born Wednesday, December 14, 1944, to Alfred T. Calhoun, Sr. and Ruth Elouise Stroud Calhoun in Natchitoches, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Butch had over 33 years of service with the United States Federal Government working as an Engineer Technician at Fort Polk in Leesville. Over his tenure, he received numerous service awards for outstanding performance. He was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Natchitoches and had a firm Christian belief of God. One of his favorite pass-times was restoring older Chevrolet pick-ups and his last project was a ’82 blue C-10 in which he most proud. He loved working in his yard and maintaining his home in Robeline. Of all his accomplishments in life, he was most proud of being a good husband to his wife and a devoted father to his sons. Family meant everything to him. He will be dearly missed but always remembered.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Theresa Slaughter Calhoun; sons, James Curtis Calhoun and Bobby Wayne Calhoun both of Vowells Mill, LA; and a sister, Sharon Jones of Longview, TX. He was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Hannah Bounds and husband Dakota, Jamee Calhoun and Evan Calhoun; and a great-granddaughter, Violet Bounds.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 2 pm Friday, September 22, 2017, at New Cedron Baptist Church in Vowells Mill, LA.
