I am so very sorry to hear of Charlie's death. He wea a true gentleman. I was glad to have told him at the 45th reunion that I always liked him. He lived in Maine on Chebeauge island, part of God's country
An addendum to my previous posting: I remember the day, in Mr. Curtain's English class, that everything stopped and Mr. Curtain asked Charlie to recite his favorite poem which was not on the specified list. It had nothing to do with our lesson at hand, but Charlie kept us spellbound as he performed, impromptu. I will always remember his poise and quiet enthusiasm as he stood there in front of us all. We loved it!! What a sad loss for us all but Charlie is remembered, always, by his 1962 classmates. Betsey Loomis Whitney
I talked with Charlie quite a while at the 50th and learned of his illness...but I guess I thought he had it licked. He seemed so optimistic. I enjoyed hearing his life's story and I regret that he will not be among us at whatever next reunion the class of '62 might manage.
I always loved and will remember Charlie's smile and friendly nature.

I also remember Charlie. He was one of the nicest, fun-loving classmates. Sorry to hear of his untimely death.
Makes us want to slow down, travel, enjoy the kids and the grandchildren.
Thanks again to Bob and Karen Kimball and all the rest for keeping us all in touch.

Saw Charlie at our 50th, just as personable and friendly as ever. What a sad loss, always remembered as a great classmate. Betsey Loomis Whitney.
