Barry was one of my best friends at Needham High.  We spent many evenings together, which involved a lot of aimless driving around (remember that gas was about $.23 per gallon.)  We also hiked in the White Mountains as Barry was a member of the Appalachian Mountain club.  Barry was an easy going, likable kid.

After high school, Barry went to Bowdoin College in Maine where he earned a degree in Geology and also became a popular leader at the school, president of his fraternity, for example.  After a short time in Houston, Barry returned to Maine.

In Hollowell, ME, Barry became active in the community and in local politics, serving as mayor at least twice, and recruiting new arrivals to help in the city.  He is remembered there as "Mr. Hollowell" and his pictures and stories are represented in a local cafe there still.  Look up Barry on the Internet and find an amazing record of achievement and community service, a life well lived.
