  To The Committee,

Thank you for all the hard work to put together a wonderful evening.

The venue, food, and music were great. It has to be the best reunion yet.

The opportunity to reunite with old friends and share laughs about our high school days and to share where we are now in our lives  is something that will not be forgotten.

Can not wait for the 45th.

 With deep gratitude

What fun, what great people, what a night! Thank you all. Now that we have addresses and ways to contact each other we should try to stay connected. If anyone knows anything about anyone of our classmates, past it on so we can contact them (and also tell them what they missed) High school was probably the greatest time of our lives and life was so much simplier then (even if we didn't know it at the time).

Thanks for the memories!!!!

This was an amazing week-end!  Kirby's, the walk through (that was quite emotional walking down those corridors, memories just flooded through me) and the reunion.  Everyone looked great and we are so fortunate that we were able to catch up with each other! The Class of 1970 is a remarkable group of people. I feel blessed to be a part of it.

There is one word to sum up this weekend  PHENOMENAL !!!

There was such a welcoming, homey feeling about the reunion. I think the committee set the tone for it. All barriers were dropped and I really felt that everyone I met was so glad to see each other. Helped me get in touch with my roots and remember "the people" I came from.  Looking on to the dance floor I realized the best dancers come from New Befad. So much fun and so many stories. Yes I wondered the next morning why my feet, knees and oh hell all the muscles in my body ache. Can't wait for the next one but in the meantime I hope we can get people's email addresses to connect up whenever we are in the states where folks live. Blessings to all.

I haven't stopped smiling, and I might never stop smiling , remembering this past weekend. I have always thought that we went to school at a special time with a special group of people, and this past weekend confirmed that. I have also always maintained that the girls of NBHS 1970 were the most beautiful that I had ever seen, and 40 years later that still holds true. From Kirby's on Friday night, until we left the wall on East beach Sunday, things couldn;t have been more perfect
I went to see Dale Pickett with Mike and Cindy Shea this afternoon, and left there with the same smile on my face. Dale, as usual, was upbeat and positive and wanted to hear about the reunion, that he worked so hard to help plan/ He promised to be at the 45th, and I intend to hold him to that.
During our tour of the old high school we found an old desk with Del loves John and Nancy loves Danny carved in it. Tom Spence was afraid to walk past the boys room outside the cafeteria, for fear of someone taking his lunch money, but Joe Costa and I promised,  to protect him . We enjoyed a delicious lunch of fish sticks with creole sauce and bbq beef on a buttered bun. Alan Zexter, as usual ordered double mashed and extra bread.
Our not so new dance moves were on display at the Wamsutta Club, with Greg Sanders stealing the show.Steve Resendes has my vote for mvp of the weekend. You will have to ask Rita and Sue the reason for that. Joe Costa still fit into his pink football tee shirt and lifeguard bathing suit, Spence did not. My tee shirt was a little tight but everyone was kind enough to tell me it looked fine. I promised Joan Corda that I would never tell anyone that I saw her tattoo, and I intend to keep that promise
Those of you who could not attend missed something  special, and those of you who were there know what I  mean . Instead of waiting five years for our next reunion I suggest we do it every few weeks. I should be out of rehab by then. Love you all.

Well, I couldn't have had a better weekend.  Thanks so much to the Reunion Committee for a stellar event.  I'm still smiling and I'm already back at work....

Pat, you make some good points, but Rezendes getting MVP worries me a little. Sure, Susan and I had a fabulous time with Steve on Friday night (Steve, you were AWESOME!) but what kind of guy brings a girl from another school to our dance the next night?????  We were so brokenhearted that Linda Almeida (Pierce-Ronca) had to take us to the Vineyard on Sunday.  No beach wall for us....too humiliating.

Kidding aside, I have been to so many family funerals in the past few years that New Bedford started to feel like a very sad place.  I know I'm not alone in this.  But seeing so many good friends and feeling like I was with NBHS family this weekend meant so much.  I'm rejuvenated (which my husband says is always dangerous ;).

In all do respect to all my friends from the football team, not even a NB/Durfee T-Day football rally could have topped the spirit, energy, comraderie and togetherness of the events from our 40th Reunion.  I think we can look to this event(s) as what finally brought us ALL together as a class.  Instead of what made us different (North End vs. South End, Roosevelt vs. Keith vs. Normandin, athlete vs. ROTC/Drama Club/Band, black vs. white, etc.), we realized we were at the same place at the same time experiencing the same events.  I've never been so proud of all my class members and for those that were unable to make it this time, do block out the Summer of '15 because you really should get to experience what we did at this 40th.  It was that good!!!

Thanks to the Reunion Committee for the time and effort you put into this.  I know all that worry you had began to vanish as the time got near and completely went away at 6:30 Sat. night.  I know from the talk on Friday night, we sensed something good was about to happen.  The good energy was very apparent.  You picked a great venue for our reunion night and these little side shows you planned was the perfect supplement to the main event.  You should all be proud and thank you for making it a memorable time for me and for everyone that participated.

"Get ToGether" on Saturday night at Kirby's Pub.

It was great to see everyone again.

                       time was had by all.

To all our classmates who missed this one please try to make the next,

                         you will not regret it.

Our post reunion get together at Kirby's Pub was a great idea and lots of fun. It's nice not to have to wait 5 or 10 years to see classmates. As Mike Shea suggested, if we all brought just one classmate who did not attend this time, to our next function, our turnout would be even better, more people, more fun, more conversation. Let's hope all who attend next time are bringing just GOOD news to share, God willing.  Thanks Mike and Cindy and all involved, looking forward to the next function.              Dennis and Jacquie Rose

The old adage says " Better late than never",and after almost three years here I am, posting a comment on our reunion and the subsquent get togethers at Kirby"s.  Just a DEEPLY APPRECIATED THANKS.  The time on this plannet is too short not to be enjoyed, since that is the Prime Purpose of Life.  Hope to see you all in May.

Many thanks to the 2015 reunion committee for an outstanding job. Everything was great and I enjoyed the reunion a great deal In talking with various classmates I was struck by how diverse we are as a group and by how so many of us have contributed to our communities so many different ways.

The reunion was extra special for me because I got a chance to get together with a number of people who I recently learned were likely relatives of mine. Believe it or not, four classmates who also submitted DNA test kits to Ancestry.Com were identified as likely relatives of mine. Even more amazing is the fact that each person is someone who I have been fond of and admired over the years.

It was also great to see so many classmates with the same youthful spirit that I remembered from long ago. I have been in denial for a number of years about the fact that I would soon turn 65 and be eligible for most all senior citizens benefits. I don't even attempt to use any of the currently available senior discounts. I feel that there must be some mistake. I certainly am not a senior citizen. Why, I don't feel much older than the foolish teenager who walked the halls of NBHS 45 years ago.

However, after seeing so many classmates and friends who have retained their youthful spirit and zest for life, I  realize that we are all in this journey together and that I have many classmates and friends to reach out to as we go forward along the way. I feel very fortunate for this.

Finally, I would also like to thank Rev Francisco Tolentino (one of my newly identified possible cousins) for his outstanding prayer just prior to his leaving to travel back to Boston. Rev Tolentino at the request of my brother from another mother, Ed Rogers, shared a prayer with some of us who were taking photos that we might all be blessed to be able to continue the good works that we do and be blessed enough to be back together again five years from now.

Perhaps going forward Rev Tolentino might be able share a prayer with all the group. I also hope that we will all blessed to see each other again in five years at the 50th reunion.

Have to say I had a great time and feel blessed to have made so many connections, with friends that were always special to me.  It was wonderful to be remembered so fondly, and everyone looked great, we have aged as fine wine, tastefully.  Thanks to the group who planned the event, you did make the evening so special.  I look forward to the next opportunity to be in such wonderful company, both friends old and new.

Mike Shea, always my hero, and the rest of the reunion committee. thanks for all that you did to plan our 45 th reunion. It was GREAT! As usual I had a tremendous time, ditto to what Bob Horne said. We are all aging gracefully and it is amazing to see the success our classmates have realized as a whole. It was good to see everyone that attended, my only regret was that I didn't get to spend a little time with everyone there. Some people left a little early, but for those of us that lasted to the end, we still got it!!!  It is always good to reconnect with old friends and all our classmates. I want to challenge everyone, as Mike has challenged me. For those of you that attended this past weekend, let's really make our 50th a big event. that being said I challenge everyone that attended to find at least five classmates that did not attend and get them to attend in five years. I want to go even further and say that we should have some type of award for the person that gets the most people to attend our 50th that did not attend this weekend. I would be willing to contribute to some type of referral award fund and make it interesting. Mike and the rest of the committee, if that is something you would choose to do, I would take that on and take care of setting it up and handling the logistics.

Thanks again for a great event. Everyone stay safe and let's  plan to see each other in five years, or less as I believe Mike still plans to schedule the smaller get togethers a couple of times a year.

Joe Costa

I just wanted to thank all of the people who worked so hard to make our reunion such a great success. There's nothing quite like catching up with old friends. It was a wonderful weekend! Again, thank you all so much.

My sincere thanks to all the folks that worked so hard to make the 45th Reunion such a wonderful experience! My wife and I had a great time and it was nice to see all of you that attended. So many memories shared and so many new ones made. We look forward to seeing you all again at the next gathering. Please, let's all keep in touch and let me know if I can be of any assistance as we move forward.

To all who attended the 45th Class Reunion Dinner and the preceding events, please accept my heartfelt thanks for your presence. To all who worked to set up the Reunion and make it the huge success it was I give my greatest admiration for your efforts.

We pass through this life but once, and it is the love and enduring grace of one's fellows that is the sweetener for what would otherwise be mere bitter existence. It was good to come home again, and to be welcomed among many of the fine people with whom I shared my childhood.

It struck me as I listened to what was said by those around me that the values that have given me the foundation for all of my successes sprang from the community I was raised in.  My childhood friends are, indeed, better people on their worst days than most of those I have met in my travels across the globe are on their best days.  I am indeed fortunate to have known you.

Please continue to consider me your friend, and do not hesitate to call on me if ever I can be of service. I hope we will meet again some day. God bless you all. -- Bill Burgess

I agree with everyone... thank you, thank you to the group who worked so hard to put such a wonderful evening (and weekend!) together for us! I haven't danced so much in a long time and loved it! It was great seeing so many of my old friends and chatting with others who perhaps I had not really known well back in in the 70's.

Indeed we were a special group! The event allowed me to renew a couple of special friendships. Thanks to Deb and Bob Motta for the hospitatolity of their home.  I look forward to seeing everyone again in 5 years!  Chris
