Steve, I can't believe you are gone. You were a friend from the first day I met you. Your love of life, friendly manor and willingness to always help was a treasure. I was so happy when we reconnected and stayed in constant touch. You were there to help me and I was always there to help you though those difficult times. The laughs we shared and the memories we made will live with me through my lifetime. Rest in Peace and Love my friend. You will be missed by so many. Love You!

Oh, Steve, we are all heartbroken after losing you.  You were a bright light in my life from our NBHS days onward. What fun we had in so many classes together. I always felt great joy and relief when I'd walk in a class and you were at the next desk. We R people stuck together. You never forgot our connection; you never forgot any of us. Thanks for teaching us how precious our friendships are and for always making our interactions fun.  You left too soon, but we'll never forget you. ♥️

Steve,  I can't believe I'm writing this right now.  I cant believe I just spoke to you. I am so sad and sorry. You are gone so suddenly and way to soon.  I'm happy that you met and connected so strongly with my brothers in San Fancisco.  I only wish I had been there to join in the fun but thanks for giving me all the updates.  You will be missed by all of us who have known you since our Roosevelt days and your family and Jacquie and all who loved you.  Thank you for the friendship.  I'll miss our chats.  Thank you for the laughter.  Always at the right time.  Rest In Peace Steve.  My honorary Cape Verdean friend💔

Rez, Banjo Man, my good friend since Roosevelt. What can I say? I’m still in shock of your passing. You were a good friend and we shared so many good times throughout our lives in school, at the beach, at parties and whenever we could meet up in our older years and after we both left NB. I will miss you and the fact that if I needed to know something about someone from school or our younger years you would always know. I am so glad that me, Spence, Rounseville, Swifty and Mansseur were able to connect with you on face time a few weeks ago. We shared some laughs and stories as well as your yearbook photos. Rest In Peace my friend, I will miss you as well as so many other friends and family, so very much, I am glad I had the opportunity to be a part of your life growing up.

Steve had the sort of personality that could fill up a room with light.  We were good friends at school, and nearly a half-century later reconnected on social media.  One of the things that amazed me then was that he was still the same person I knew in school:  Happy, friendly, and always positive.  I cannot imagine that anyone ever took a disliking to him.  His passing is a saddening loss for all who knew him.
