Obituary

PATRICIA ANN MCCABE

Patricia Ann McCabe, loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly January 3, 2011. She was born November 28, 1969, in Port Jefferson, New York, to Michael and Rebecca McCabe. Patty was a sweet and generous soul who was quick with a smile and a snarky comment. She loved her family, cheesy movies, Christmas time, all things Disney, The Cure, Tic-Tacs, and winning at slots. She attended New City Elementary School, Felix V. Festa Junior High School and Clarkstown High School North. She continued her education at La Salle University, graduating with a B.S. in Human Resource Management in 1991. Patty was an extremely dedicated Human Resources professional, who took pride in her work. She most recently worked as the HR Manager for Cotton Inc. in New York City. Patty showed strength in the face of adversity, especially the juvenile diabetes she fought since the age of 12. We will miss her greatly, but thank God for the time we had with her to create the wonderful memories we will cherish forever. And we are thankful that our father is awaiting her in heaven to welcome her home. Patty was predeceased by her father, Deacon Michael G. McCabe, who passed away October, 2010. She is survived by her mother, Rebecca McCabe, her siblings: Gerianne Lehane (her husband Dan and their children Sean, Danny, Timmy and Colleen); Becky O'Mara (her husband Patrick and their children Kathryn, Rachel, Alanna and Morgan); Mary; Kathleen; Peggy; Michael (his wife Meg and their children Erin and Grace); Rita; Eileen (her husband MJ); Barbara; Kevin (his wife Kristen); and Brian. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A wake will be held for her family and friends at Higgins Funeral Parlor in New City, NY, 2-4pm and 7-9pm Thursday. The funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Church 11AM Friday, followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery.
