In Memory

Vicki Metz (Clay)

Vicki worked for 18 years in the NICU unit of Aultman Hospital. She helped many little ones and their families have great lives together.

In September of 2003 Vicki  was diagnosed with breast cancer and battled the cancer , as it spread, for 18 long months. She never lost her will to live and always had a smile on her face.

She was and is a brave soul.

Vicki lost her battle on March 21, 2005. She left behind two children, Lauren Nicole and Nicholas Logan. One son died shortly after birth, Logan Allen.

I can tell you that she really enjoyed the 20 year reunion and seeing everyone that was there. She had hoped to make the 25 year, yet it was not to be. She will be there with us in spirit.

Such a great lady. We were neighbors at one time, and you could never ask for a better person.

Vicki - I was so blessed to have our paths meet again when we became neighbors so many years after graduating high school. We went from complaining about algebra to cheering for our sons in baseball. I really miss the campfires and parties. I really miss you!
Love Gayle

That photo of Vicki says it all. Since the days we sat across from each other in Kindergarten, Vicki was smiling. Beautiful inside and out, I cannot imagine how much she is missed by those she loved.

Far more imporant that the number of people we know while we are here, is the number of people that will miss us when we are gone. I am sure Vicki's list is very long.

Dearest of people I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life. Vicki, this describes you..... We were such close friends in grade school, then we grew older, not necessarily wiser, and grew apart. You had friends and I had friends but the amazing thing is, when we bumped into one another it was as if we never missed a beat in our friendship. Many years after graduating we were reunited by our children and their love for sports. Sitting in the stands cheering them on.. You are truly the most beautiful lady, inside and out, that I have ever known. I would aspire to be half the lady you have been.
I want you to know about a friend and neighbor of mine, Judy. She is a Nurse in the NICU at Aultman Hospital.
She asked me if I knew you. What a small world huh? She shared with me the most heartwarming stories that have been told to her about you. Doctors, other Nurses, families, etc...... I know you probably already know this as I know you are in Heaven, I just wanted to be sure you knew how near and dear you are to my heart.
Forever in my heart,
Tammy Hershberger Tully

Well, make that a big ditto about how lovely a woman Vicki was. Shelley Brick and Vicki and I hung around together until I moved and went to South (5th grade). She was so sweet and funny! I enjoyed her friendship greatly and I know she is missed severly. What a wonderful thing to remembered so fondly. I agree with Tammy, could only aspire....... she was a true sweetheart! I am a better person for having known her. Thanks Vicki!!!
