I met Jackie Dane in the 7th grade. We became very good friends from that moment on. I had a lot of good times with Jackie & Debbie Dane through school. I knew her whole family. Jackie met Clarence Chastain and dropped out of school to marry and have her daughter Dawn. Jackie ended up moving to Arkansas with Clarence and his family. The last time I heard from Jackie was 1978 when she called my parent's home in Union City and asked me to come to Newark as she was visiting her family , and she would be returning to Arkansas the next day. I couldn't make it that night. It would be the last time I ever saw or spoke to her again. I received a call on Labor day 1981 that Jackie had been shot and killed by Clarence at a party.. R.I. P my friend.
