Mr Walla was such a great guy. We would run into him at local functions and he always would sit with us and want to hear about our lives, ane he'd tell us of the fun things he was doing. He ran the Christmas musical progam at the Awahnee Hotel in Yosemite park for years , and had such a ball doing it. He will always have a warm place in my heart.

Singing in Mr. Walla's Acapella Choir was great.  He really gave a lot of people pleasure by teaching them how to sing, or by hearing his groups perform.    He, along with several other good teachers, made Newark High School a place of good experiences for many.  Wherever you are Conrad, I hope that you're singing a song.  You live in our memories.  I've sung in bands and done solo performances in country, rock, and jazz for the last 35 years in bars, wineries, festivals, restaurants, etc, and the training that Mr. Walla gave me has been valuable through my musical vocal performances.   Conrad, you touched many lives and still live in our hearts.

I joined choir as a freshman.

Mr. Walla was the best !! He encouraged us to sing and not be afraid.

I wasn't going to try for Accapella the following year, but got me to try anyway, and I MADE IT....

That was probably the best memory I have of high school.  He made it fun, and actually made his

students feel special.

I saw him a few years ago at a benefit for the school dist @ the Saddlerack. I

didn't think after so many years he would remember me. He said he did. I know all of his students

were honered as I was to have him as our teacher.

         RIP Mr. Walla

Thank you Mr. Walla for making me feel special and your class got me through science and math, I always looked forward to your class.  God bless your family and I know you are part of a great choir in the heavens.
