John had the biggest heart and always lived life to the fullest. He would always call me, when I left Ohio, to make sure I was informed and keeping up with Ohio sports . He was with a group of guys that came to Groton, CT and was the life of my wedding (some of you remember him in shorts with a tie around his head). We all had a blast, three years in a row, at Times Square for New Years Eve. My only regret is, with the Navy, I never got a chance to go to New Orleans with him for Mardi Gras. I will always miss him and every July 4th, his favorite holiday, I drink my first beer for him. Your Friend Always. Scott

John always made me laugh - the best time I ever had with John was the night he tried to teach Tracey to drive a stick shift!! OMG - I have never laughed so hard...especially at John's reaction to Tracey almost dropping the transmission out of his car (not really, but it was a pretty bumpy ride)!

John was one in a million. I think of him periodically and I will miss not seeing his face at the reunion and being able to catch up with him.

John will definately be there with us Friday and Saturday. His spirit lives in all of us. He had a laugh and a sense of humor that was intoxicating...you just wanted to be by him and laugh with him...it is "hard to believe" (anyone remember him saying that all the time???) that he has been gone for 10 years. We love you John!

What can I say about John that hasn't already been said?
He was so sweet and funny! Thank you for a great Junior Prom and of course, for writing Sharonatchy all over my locker in permanent marker! We love you and miss you and you will be in our hearts always...

What can I say? John was awesome; we all know that. I loved him, as everyone did, and even considered him one of my very best friends.

I understood his cocky sense of humor perfectly and always thought he was funny. He never meant the brash things he implied to people; he meant the exact opposite. He meant that he loved us and thought that we too were the very best. It was just his way of telling us: by always being funny.

I've missed John a lot over the years and still think of him often. In fact, the last time I saw him he said, "Hey, we'll get together and play some basketball!" Well, the older I get, the more I think that, someday, I may be able to have that game with him after all. He'll see that everything I learned about the sport after that was all in honor of him. He was the best basketball player I ever had the pleasure of competing against. But one day we might all find that even the saddest of events are almost never in vain.

We all love you, Johnny, and we miss you dearly.
