Darla Lynne Healey-Eckhoff

Darla Lynne Healey-Eckhoff, 60, died November 6th, 2022, in Hutchinson surrounded by her family. She was born December 8th, 1961, in Hutchinson, to Anna J. (Daines) and John “Buck” Healey.

Darla graduated from Nickerson High School in 1980 and attended Hutchinson Community College to pursue her career in nursing. She was joined in marriage to Carl Eldon Eckhoff Jr. on August 4th, 1983. They shared two daughters from their marriage and later divorced.

Darla worked for many employers in her nursing career and served amongst multiple community councils in Hutchinson and South Hutchinson where she was raised.  Darla was of the Catholic faith and took great joy in the involvement with her church organizations.

There was no stranger to Darla. She had friends or family where ever she may have gone, whether it was the grocery store, playing bingo, or thrift shopping. Family was her everything no matter how distant, she always remained close.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura Smith (Inman), and Kristen (Dustin) Farmer of Newton. Mother, Ann (Bud) DeWater, South Hutchinson. Siblings Mike (Brenda) Healey of Wichita, Lana DeWater of Newton, and Kim Howard and Johnnie Healey of Hutchinson. But most importantly, by her greatest pride and joy- her grandchildren, Adriana, Kira, Z.j. (Kristen’s) and Aden, Abrienda, Camilla Demetrius, Brayden, and Graysen (Laura’s.)

She was preceded in death by her father, and by son-in-law Zachary Farmer. Amongst many other friends and family.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to her family home of 221 East Ave E, South Hutchinson 67505.
