Ron Burdick

Ronald Lynn Burdick was born in Oklahoma City on Aug. 21, 1948, the son of Ralph and Irene Burdick. He spent his early childhood years in Norman, Okla., and was a member of the Norman High School class of 1966.

He was active in the arts, including stage production and acting. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1969 and served his country honorably as a Vietnam War veteran. He was a poet.

Ron was laid to rest on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman by family, friends and members of the American Legion. The service was officiated by personal friend and retired chaplain George Martin.

Ron is survived by his parents, Ralph and Irene Burdick, of Tahlequah, Okla.; a sister, Diana Fuqua, of Knoxville; and nephews Dr. Michael Ladd of Knoxville and Jimmy Ladd of Australia.

His parents personally thanked all of those in attendance and requested that memorials be made to the St. Joseph’s Residence, P.O. Box 6426, Tulsa, OK 74148.
