Ruby Ernestine (Tina) Jennings Champeau

Ruby Ernestine (Tina) Jennings Champeau, age 69 of Noble, Oklahoma, a 1966 graduate of Norman High School, went to be with the Lord surrounded by family at Norman Regional Hospital due to a short term illness on March 18, 2017. Tina was born on November 4, 1947 to Ernest and Ruby Jennings. She was the youngest of six siblings. She married the love of her life, David Gary Champeau on November 21, 1996.

She was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma. She attended Jefferson Elementary and Central Jr. High where she was secretary of the Pep Club. Her faith was very important to her. She was a devout Pentecostal Holiness and enjoyed attending tent revivals led by Bud Chambers. In her later years she enjoyed watching Joel Olsteen every Sunday.

Tina was a proud mother of her two children, Kennette and Chad, and enjoyed spending time with them along with her grandkids which she loved dearly. She would watch ET with her great grandson, Easton, every time he came to visit. She loved her Dr. Pepper and listening to Elvis Presley. She would play her favorite song by him, If I Can Dream, over and over. For the past 10 years she was an amature geneologist. She loved researching family history...even Elvis's.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers. She leaves behind her husband, Gary Champeau, of the home; one sister, Betty Allen; her daughter, Kennette Usry Novak and husband Don of Stuart, Florida; her son, Chad Usry and mother of his children, Nancy Driskell, of Norman, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Cody, Derek, and Chaz Floyd; a granddaughter, Taylor Hughes and father of child, David Hughes; a grandson, Lane Usry and wife Ashlee; two great grandchildren, Easton and Harper.
