Obituary

 

Clinton "Mark" Burnett, 61, of Norman Oklahoma passed away December 17, 2010. Services will be held at Primrose Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with graveside services immediately following at IOOF cemetery. 

Mark was born August 25th, 1949 in Wichita Falls, TX to Cecil and Pansy Ruth Burnett. He moved to Norman in the early 1950's and graduated from Norman High School. He joined the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1969 then returned to work at the A&W Root Beer Stand and Western Electric. In 1978 he went to work for the University of Oklahoma and spent 28 years working with the greatest people on earth. He retired in 2006 and worked part time at Lassiter Drug delivering medications to hospice patients. 

He married the love of his life, Shirley Ferrell Marler on June 30th, 1979. Mark loved his family and enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed photography and took many pictures of family and friends but was most know for his pictures of the clock tower and the south oval at OU. He was an avid OU fan and loved to ride his beloved motorcycle "Shadow". He is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home, son, Russell Marler and wife Pam, daughter, Shem Hamil and husband Joe, all of Norman. Grandchildren, Krystal Tilson and husband Bryan, Josh Hamil, Jared Marler and Tyler Marler. One great granddaughter, Brylea Tilson. Brothers Larry Warner of Salina, KS. and Chuck Warner of Nowato, OK. Cousin Charlotte Bates and husband Billy of Oden, AR., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
